Well, my third agility class has come and gone...and I realize that it's kind of sad that we only have two more before the end of the series! :-/
I've been really enjoying hanging out with my new friends, learning lots of new things, and running through the courses!
This was our set up this evening! You see that hoop/hurdle looking thing...well, that was our new station!
To begin with, we warmed up by jumping a few hurdles and then landed on the table. After doing this twice, we moved over to the new hoop and just hung out with it (meaning that we started slow). Once everyone successfully hopped through it, Miss Rachel added it to the line up. Unfortunately, lots of us pups decided that the hoop was a bit weird and instead of going through it, almost all of us went around instead. Hehehe! It took me a couple of attempts and lots of treats before I was running through it too!
We are always off leash now when doing the course and we are almost always perfectly well behaved, but during this photo the standard poodle, Hess, decided to go absolutely insane. It was hilarious! She not only completely ignored the course and the treats, but she also ignored her Mom, Dad, and Miss Rachel! Instead, she chose to eventually run over to one of our other classmates and start a snuffle...hehehe! Eventually she was caught though and the fun stopped! Boo!
I was totally behaving well when we had to wait! ;-) Just look at that sit-stay! Oooo Ooo Ooo, way in the back of this photo is Miss Millie, aka Murphy's doppelganger!! I know, you probably can't see her too much!
We finished class by introducing the tunnel! Apparently lots of dogs get scared of the tunnel because they don't like the floor texture or the large dogs don't like the tunnel touching their backs or it's too dark for them. But I'm happy to report that all of us had positive experiences with it (me especially, Miss Rachel thinks it's because I'm a terrier and aren't scared of anything...hehehe, Domeek thought that I would be terrified too though)! Next week, we are going to be opening it all the way and adding it to the course! Exciting times!
After class we went to PetsMart to buy num nums! Weeeeeee...that's how I roll! ;-)
Alright everyone, I'm exhausted after class...so it's off to bed for me! Oh, please meet Mr. Octopus, he's my newest toy care of BarkBox! ;-)
Have a great Monday everyone!!
WOW! We are SO impressed Freckles, really we are! With our short legs & attention span, mom can only dream of agility classes for us *BOL*.
ReplyDeleteMr Octopus looks grreat - you enjoy your nap.
Wally & Sammy
Hahaha, I think that you would have fun at least! Nothing beats getting treats for doing very little! Hehehe! ;-)
DeleteThat looks like so much fun! I'm just on my second level class so I have a ways to go before we try any agility.
ReplyDeleteMillie
Goose you never cease to amaze me. I would love to come and watch you do your thing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
So amazing that you enjoyed the tunnel and kept working hard to get through that hoop. I am very impressed that you kept cool when the other doggie was going nuts. Love getting the updates.
ReplyDeleteKelsey
We think Hess must be part scottie.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Agility rocks! I really enjoyed trying it out on my holiday, especially the treats part. Hooroo! X
ReplyDeleteGreat work there Goose and we like the treat part. Have a marvelous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Congrats! You did a great job! Mr. Octopus is very cute.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Way to go little guy - you are doing wonderfully and of coarse you wouldn't be scared of a tunnel - it's just like going down a bunny hole!
ReplyDeleteDear Goose,
ReplyDeleteYou are doing the game called Agility - pawesome! I love that game!
My favorite is Tunnel, although Jumps are fun too. I bet your ancestors (that's your great-great-grandpas) earned their living chasing rats and things down in their holes. No wonder you're good at it!
I personally do not like Table because you have to just lie down and wait. Have they made you do Table yet? (I think I can see it in the background over there?)
And then there are the silly things called Weaves. Clearly invented by humans, not Dogs.
Oh, I am so excited that you are doing the Agility game! Too bad your class is almost over; are you going to take another one?
Licks,
Cobi
Hey Cobi! Yeah, we're doing the table, but right now it's just as a landing spot...so we don't have to lie down or sit, just stop! ;-) Hehe! So it's not too bad right now! Hm, I've heard about those weaving poles, I think that they're totally odd and I agree that it must have been designed by a human! We haven't done them yet, but we still have two more weeks to learn the basic stuffs!! :-D I am definitely planning on taking more classes, I can't wait!
DeleteYou saw my doppleganger and last night we saw yours! We even posted about it today on our bloggy! And guess what . . . Goose's mom (big Goose) gave me a hoop so I could learn to jump through it. Maybe one day I will take a class like yours. It looks like such fun! Ask Domeek to take a video of you!
ReplyDeleteKeep Calm & Bark On
Murphy & Stanley
What a good pup you are, Goose! And your agility class sounds like so much fun! I'm sorry you only have two more left :( But maybe you will get to do another one?
ReplyDeleteWhoa!! You are doing so well with the agility! I love the tunnels...must be a terrier thing. BOL Ma says you look so precious all curled up for sleepies.
ReplyDeleteYour pal,
Oz
Hey Goose, What a good terrier you are! I loved seeing this set up and wonder if it is in a Petsmart near you? My brother and sil live in Los Altos and they have a border terrier who would probably love this. I will have to tell them about it. You are such a cutie and I bet stole the show!
ReplyDeleteWags, Noreen & Hunter
Hi Noreen and Hunter!! Nope, this isn't at PetsMart...it's at A Dog's Life in Palo Alto! They have a ton of dog sport classes that they can choose between! I highly suggest the school for both obedience and "fun" classes!! www.dogslife.biz
DeleteYou are getting so good at agility Goose! You should teach that poodle a thing or two on how to behave ;) Pets mart, what a lucky doggy you are!!
ReplyDeleteLove Milo :)
Sounds awesome Goose! And the tunnel does sound a little scary. I'm glad you weren't afraid of it though, good job!
ReplyDeleteAww Goose, looks like you had a wonderful day! Your mama spoils you to bits. My Beamer learned how to do the tunnel at an indoor dog park. The trainer there was wonderful. I think there's a YouTube video of it somewhere...
ReplyDeleteMr. Octopus is too cute. We're waiting for our January BarkBox. Can't wait for ours! :)
