One Brick For One Bark

Happy Monday Everyone!!!

I hope that you all had a stellar weekend!! :-D

Domeek and I managed to get to One Brick for One Bark...and it was pretty darn pawesome!! We were a little worried, since there weren't too many people or pups there to begin with, but in the end there were about 40ish pups! :-D Not too shabby for a community event!

There were lots of local vendors including pup stores, daycares, training facilities, and photographers, who were all incredibly nice and most gave me either goody bags or treats! ;-)

This is my favorite teacher, Miss Diane!! She was giving a first aid/CPR talk! Domeek learnt a lot and wants/needs to take her workshop, just in case! ;-)

This is Nancy, showing us how to teach and perform puppy tricks! That corgi was super smart and knew how to totally work the crowd!

Is it me, or do these two awesome pups look like little Blueberries?!!! :-D

We got to watch two pups conducting a trial version of a nosework competition, then I got to try out a beginning version of the course! It was pretty fun and I got to eat lots of yummies!

Finally, we got to watch a tricks/talent competition...man, oh man, are there a ton of super smart and talented pups out there!

Well, there you have it! We had a wonderful time and hope that next year's event grabs even more people, pups, and vendors! :-D

Oh, on a completely unrelated note, Domeek finally completed her tattoo, so stay tuned for the final shot! In my humble opinion, my portrait is by far, the best...but whatever! ;-)

A New Book and Toy

:-D It's the Weekend guys!!!

If you all remember, a couple of weeks ago, the wonderful Prudence from A Coonhound's Tales hosted a fun little giveaway on her blog! Her Mom went to a book signing for Simon Tofield, the author of Simon's Cat...the coolest and funniest comics, ever!

Well, they bought an extra copy of Simon's book and guess who won it??????

Yop, that's right - Little Old Moi!! :-D

Well, two days ago, their package arrived!!! :-D

I couldn't wait to open it!

I begged Domeek to read it to me immediately! :-) Look at the awesome signature and cartoon Mr. Simon drew!

Sooooo, I have to send a gigantic "Thank You" out to Prudence and her Mom! The book is absolutely fabulous and hilarious!

After having a wonderful time at the puppy park this afternoon (I totally took down three big pups) Domeek treated me to a new toy...I even got to pick it out! :-D

Supposedly he's indestructible, but I already managed to tear a hole in him, muahahaha!

FitDog Friday - Let's Walk Shall We?

I hope that you all had a wonderful week and are planning on doing fabulous things this weekend!!

Domeek and I are going to be going to an event on Sunday called One Brick presents One Bark, which is a huge community dog day that donates almost all of its proceeds to different charities around the Bay Area! There's going to be tons of vendors, lots of dogs visiting and up for adoption, dog related talks, and various classes to observe! I can't wait to go!

Buuuuutttt...first, I wanted to join in the FitDog Friday's blog hop brought to you by Peggy's Pet Place, SlimDoggy, and To Dog With Love, especially since I haven't joined in since the very first one!! Gasp, I know!! ;-)

Since this hop is focused on promoting healthy life styles and lessening the chance of the crazy human and animal obesity epidemic, we decided to just have a really long walk around one of our favorite parks in Palo Alto!

Beach Time!!! :-D

I hope that you all had an excellent Mother's Day :-D

Since Grandma is back in the hospital (just for a couple more weeks), Domeek and I decided to hit the road and go hang out at the beach!

It was a bit more overcast there than at home, but the weather was still super excellent!!

I love going to the beach, but I still hate going in the water...creepy!! Domeek laughs, but I swear that it follows you and then, when you aren't looking, BAM...it jumps out!

You can't tell, but there were a ton of people there, we were just lucky to score a spot in a more secluded part!!

See...the water is taunting me!

Grrrrr...ruff!

Domeek was nice and brought my ruff bed with us, it was way more comfy to sit on than the sand...but then again, I spent most of the time sitting on her towel instead! ;-)

I met tons of dogs there too!! :-D

I had a seriously pawesome time!! :-D

Now, I'm off to have a little nap before getting into some more mischief! See you all next time!! :-D

Happy Sunday to you all!!!:-D

As pups and kitties, we are all incredibly lucky to have such pawesome Mommas!! Moms that provide us with delicious treats, play thousands of games of ball with us, buy us warm and comfortable beds, dish us up lots of nummy foods, and give us never ending love!!

I hope that you all give your Moms lots of licks and love today...cause, at least today, she is Numero Uno!! ;-D

I'm A Mom Too

Here’s my opinion…
First of all, being a parent… doesn’t make you a person.
Being a person… makes you a person.
Not one human… is any more of a person… than any other person.

Further…
Conceiving a child doesn’t make you a mother.
Carrying a child doesn’t make you a mother.
Giving birth to a child doesn’t make you a mother.

Instead…
Loving, nurturing, raising, protecting, defending, teaching, guiding, caring, and providing for a “child”… every single day… no matter what…
That’s what makes you a mother.

Loving them so much… that you’re willing to place their needs well-above your own…
That’s what makes you a mother.

Loving them so unconditionally… that there’s simply nothing they could ever do to sway your devotion from them…
That’s what makes you a mother.

Doing all of these things… to the very best of your ability… even when you don’t have to…
That’s what makes you a mom.

I don’t care what anyone says…
Trust me…
I’m a mom.

Being a dog mom is different…
Mostly because… your kids never “grow up.”
They’ll always need you; they’ll always want you; they’ll always depend on you for everything they need… for as long as they’re here with you.

It’s also different, because many people don’t take you seriously.
It’s just a dog. A dog is not a “real child,” and you’re not a “real mom.”

Others are offended… that you’d even have the nerve to compare your dogs to children: “Dogs are dogs. They are not people, and they are certainly not children.”

That’s their opinion… but once again, I respectfully disagree.

Happy Mother’s Day, to all the dog (and cat) moms out there.
You’re a mother, too…
And no one can ever take that away from you.

“Never forget for a single minute… you didn’t grow under my heart… but in it.”
