Yep, Totally Jumping on the Bandwagon!

Happy really late Thursday everyone!!

So, considering that almost every pup and kitten that I know is completing this blog hop, I thought I'd totally jump on this bandwagon too! :-D

Freckles the Dog

First Timer:

1. When did you begin your blog?
I began at the end of July 2012 on a different site, but then changed to blogger (and posted way more) at the beginning of August 2012.

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
I wanted to share my incredibly entertaining and interesting self with all of the World, so being the technologically advanced pup that I am, decided that blogging was certainly the way to go!

3. Is your current purpose the same?
If not, what's different?

If so, how do you feel you've met your goals?
Hm...hehehe, yep, still making sure everyone knows who I am and what I do! :-D But, I also have added a bit more rescue animal initiatives to my blog since starting.

4. How often do you post?

I used to post every single day, but then Domeek (my opposable digits) couldn't assist me every time I demanded it...so now I post about 4 times or more a week.

5. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?
If you publish on a schedule, why? How strict are you about your publishing deadlines? What do you do for inspiration when it feels like you've covered every topic?

If you don't publish on a schedule, why? How do you think your decision affects your audience? How do you know when a topic is "post-worthy?"

Hm, I generally post more as the spirit moves me! I do have a couple of weekly posts that I try to get to each week (blog hops mainly), but the rest are up for grabs and as interesting things occur in my little life! I sometimes troll the web looking for animal related holidays that spark my interest or if something is going on in the news, but generally it's me and my life!

Hehe, how do my posting decisions affect my audience? Well, to be quite honest with you all...I really don't think that much about it. Ooops sorry guys...it doesn't mean that I don't love you! ;-) If it were up to me, I'd post every single day, but you'd be as bored as heck cause I wouldn't have enough to chat about! A topic is post-worthy when I say it is! Now, I'm not going to post about a sneeze that I had, but if that sneeze caused me to fall of the sofa backwards and land in a bowl of food that caused me to get a random bath...well then, definitely that sneeze was post-worthy! :-D

6. How much time do you spend writing your blog per week? How much time visiting other blogs? Share your tips for staying on top of it all.

Oooo, well, I only follow blogs that I really love reading! So, even if I don't have time to post on my own bloggie, I will visit practically everyone else each day and generally leave a comment for the writer! Hm, I probably spend a few hours each week writing for my own blog. Some days I can write a whole bunch really quickly, while others I lack inspiration. I actually feel like I'm neglecting my readers and friends if I don't write and visit their blogs, which is why I only follow select blogs.

7. How do you measure the success of a post and of your blog in general (comments, shares, traffic)?

Do you look strictly at the numbers, or do you have a way of assessing the quality of those interactions?

Since I'm a recreational blogger, I don't necessarily look at the numbers. Now, if I write something and only 5 people read it and only 1 person comments then that makes me sad and I try to figure out what went wrong...but that doesn't happen much! Thank dog! If lots of people comment then that obviously means that they liked it (or that it was a part of a blog hop...fun stuff) and so it was a success. But I've also had some posts that I've written where the numbers weren't great, but I thought that my content was pretty darn pawesome...so again, it was successful for me! :-D

8. If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one issue you're having with your blog, what would it be?

Hm...when it's pretty quiet and I haven't done anything interesting for a few days, what do you all want to hear...or do you just want me to shut up? Muahaha!

9. What goals do you have for your blog in 2013?

Hm, definitely be more active in assisting those pups and kittens less fortunate than me! If that means just bringing awareness to my readers or if that means volunteering or making things for the homeless population, then that is it!! :-D Ooo and to try and sit still a bit longer so that Domeek can take (maybe) a decent photo every week or at the very least month!

So there you go...me too!!! :-D

This Saturday is the Bay Area Pet Expo and I'm GOING!!! WooHoo!! I promise to take tons of photos and tell you all about it as soon as possible! :-)

  6. Woofs, Goose! Thanks so much for taking part in the Challenge. Whether to write or be quite is a tough question. I've been feeling a little uninspired lately myself and took the "be quiet" route (I had the holidays to blame it on). It was pretty interesting because it wasn't long before I really started to get itchy to write again. My opinion is that it's more important to write interesting, funny, quality posts that your readers love than to stick to blogging schedule.

I hope you have a fantastic 2013 and I'm looking forward to following your adventures!

If you're not quite sure what to write then how about a great puppy pic! Those always work for me :)

Good luck with your goals in 2013!
