Domeek wanted to make sure that Miss Snickerdoodle and I had a fantastic week while she was (currently "is") staying with us, so she took us to a bunch of hiking trails, parks, and walks! Luckily we even got to venture out to a new spot...it's called the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto.
The preserve is a mix of steep hills, forests, valleys, and grasslands. We decided to take the steepest trail of them all. It was only about 3 miles long, but man oh man, did it feel sooooo much further!
When we first got to the preserve, there were signs that said that coyotes had been seen on some of the trails and that dogs weren't allowed on them...and then when we got into the car, the first thing that we saw when leaving the parking lot - an adolescent coyote!!!!! :-D Wowee!! I think that might have been the biggest dog that I have ever seen!!! Crazy!
We had such a wonderful time that we'll definitely be going back!
Have a great day everyone!
You and your human sure are showing Snickerdoodle a good time. You two look like you could be cousins!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have left Beamer with you while I'm away :P
You could totally bring Beamer and Audi to my house next time your in the Bay Area! ;-)
DeleteThat trail looks like a good workout! And I'm really glad that coyote kept his distance; some coyotes in my neighborhood are very brave about trying to get little pups who are walking on leash with their people!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the dogs had a lot of fun. There's a lot of coyotes in my neighborhood although we haven't had any encounters yet. Good thing you avoided one.
ReplyDeleteSome mornings we find coyote poop on our porch.
ReplyDeleteIs your mum showing off for Miss Snickerdoodle...you know....pretending that you ALWAYS go on such fantastic walks? Just thought we'd ask.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the sound of coyotes nearby.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Sounds like a great place to hike Goose but be careful with the mean coyotes and stay safe. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Wow! coyote! We've seen kangas (in the distance) on our walks before, wish we could see a dingo, that would be cool!
ReplyDeleteOh! It looks like a great place for a long walk but you to be extra careful. Happy WW BlogPaws. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely place to walk just watch out for those coyotes!
ReplyDeleteOh man, yeah. Koira got bit by a coyote on a path just outside the city limits here a few years ago, which was super scary even though the bite was rather minor.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Don't know what I would do if we came face to face with a coyote!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fun walk.
SM 'n Co.

ReplyDeleteThe scenery on your hiking adventure is gorgeous! I can see where those hills would be a workout. Glad you didn't the coyote until you were safely back at your car. Eeek!
