Domeek says that I am having a rough time in transitioning to her new schedule...to that I say "Puuuu-cha and duh!!!!" ;-) 1. I am not, in any way, shape, or form a morning puppy...and we get up before the sun...everyday! 2. I like being around her all the time and now I don't see her during the day :-( 3. My kitty siblings are taking it out on me too!!
So, I was "acting out" all weekend and even got into a mis-understanding (my words, cause I swear, I didn't mean to go all ape-s^%t on CJ) at the dog park. Domeek is feeling really bad about herself and the way her new schedule is affecting me...GOOD!!! She says that we'll get back into the swing of things again, it will just take some time. Boo!
But we spent all weekend long together, sleeping in, hanging out, going to the dog park...it was a lot of fun!
I did just realize that I never posted photos of my pawesome 5k that happened last weekend! So, today is the perfect day to show them off!!
We had a fantastic time at the event and raised a grand total of $375 (the event raised a whopping $229,000)!! WooHoo!! Thanks again to everyone who donated!! :-D
The run took place at an incredibly beautiful park in South San Jose called Hellyer (weird name!). It was massive and had a gorgeous lake right in the middle! Aw!
When we checked in, I was given a bandanna (I do not do bandannas!), which is now decorating my leash, and Domeek got a shirt!!
There were tons of dogs and people there!!
Here we are at the start line (before everyone wandered over)!
Let's do this!!
And then we started...sorry there was no time or energy to take photos on the actual run! Good dog, that was the longest and hardest 3 and a bit miles that I have ever done! Whoa...there were dogs and people everywhere (until the mid point, where we started losing runners...hehehe)! Luckily there were water tables set up all over the place and some even had puppy biscuits to give us the energy to continue! Noms!!! ;-)
Luckily though, we finally finished...phew!! I tell you, there were a couple of points that I didn't think we were going to make it!
Can't tell I'm exhausted...can you?! ;-)
But I was given a stuffie when we crossed the finish line!! It was pawesome (and now completely destroyed!)!
As you can see...I was super duper proud of myself on the way home!! I can now check that "Run a 5K" off my bucket list!!! :-D
Oh gosh Goose - don't go taking out the new schedule on other doggies! Domeek is right - eventually you will get used to things and you'll be just fine and won't be so out of sorts. The weekends off will definitely help with that!
ReplyDeleteI think you and Blueberry really are distant cousins or something because she isn't a morning dog either!
Good job on running that 5K! Woot woot!
Hellyer Park is nearish to my home!!! It was a lovely weekend for a walk/run. I am so glad you were able to participate AND that you got treatables for your efforts. I seriously doubt I could manage a 5k. I'ma pug, afterall.

5 kms....we're impressed. AND we're impressed with the amount of $ you helped raise! Wow, what a great effort. Looks like a great weekend out.
ReplyDeleteHope things on the home front settle down soon. We don't like being left alone.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Goose hang in there things will settle down and you want have to start any S#*t with CJ or the cats (although they might have it coming). Great job on the fund raiser and I enjoyed the pix.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
You are such a super hero freckles...we're are so Proud of you!
ReplyDeleteAw I am with you Goose - I am totally not a morning person either. Well, at least not these days hehe. When school started, my human baby had to adjust to a new schedule because she was used to sleeping later during the summer. You'll get used to it eventually I hope!
ReplyDeleteAw bru change is hard but try stick with it and we're sure things will start to get easier. Now about this run you did...WOW...WELL DONE YOU and Domeek!!
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Yikes we are so not early birds over here either. Well done on finishing your run and for raising all those green papers. Bravo. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly

Wow! $375 and $229,000 raised is amazing. Good for everyone that participated and donated. Beamer's still wearing his bandana from our canine cancer walk. I'm too lazy to take it off and he doesn't seem to mind (plus, it makes a big, black dog look a little friendlier).
ReplyDeleteI also started a new job and Beamer isn't fond of my new schedule. Hopefully things start to clear up for all of us :)
Did you love running?? We love it! Domeek needs to adjust her schedule to your sleeping patterns. You need to tell her the sooner she does this the better!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Congratulations on your 5k pal!!! That is just pawesome! I hope you get used to the new schedule soon. It can be disappointing at first not having your mom around all day but soon you will realize that it makes seeing her in the evening that much more exciting!
