Bark In The Park...Woof!

Wow - what a crazy, busy day!

Happy Saturday and Sunday everyone; my apologies for not dropping by yesterday, Domeek abandoned me and went to a really old person's concert (something about hair bands...and poison...from those words alone, I'm glad I didn't go!).

This morning, we got up super duper early and went to a doggie festival in San Jose called Bark in the Park. All the money raised went to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley and the San Jose Animal Care Center. There was so much going on all the time; along with your typical pet vendors, there were trainers, doggy daycares, breed rescues, county rescues, and even the district attorney (who was handing out signs to put on hot cars with animals inside)! The festival also had events, such as agility, flyball, pet and human look-a-like contests, costume contests, and trainer discussions! It was exhausting, let me tell you!

If you look really close, you'll see that my school had a booth and was saying "Hi" to all the puppies and their parents! This was just a quarter of the vendors that were there!

Flyball demonstrations - these pups were incredible! They jumped on the guys chest and arms while catching frisbees in their mouths and even did jump rope!!! My jaw dropped!

Really, the most important view...the food vendors!! Yummy!! There were tacos, hot dogs, corn dogs, shaved ice, ice cream, you should have smelt it!! I tried their corn dogs and was very impressed!

There were probably over two hundred pups at the event and I think I met about half of them, which is pretty impressive, if you ask me! ;-) Large dogs, small dogs, loud dogs, shy dogs, dogs in strollers (hehehe), and dogs in costumes, they were all here today!! I decided that I love Boston Terriers, hung out with an apricot miniature poodle called Teddy, and laughed at this poor dog called Lola in a Barry Manilow inspired Copacabana costume! Urg!

The water department set up a "water park" for us, including tons of drinking bowls, pools, and water misters. Since it was way hotter than the weather man said, Domeek wanted me to take a dip in one of the pools, but there was no way I was jumping in! So, I chose to get misted instead...oooooo, feel the cool and wet breeze!

Behind the festival was this great wooded area, so when it got just too hot to even think about moving, we headed back there and rested!

It was a great event, let me tell you! I was a lucky puppy and got quite a few treats and Domeek bought me a t-shirt from Dog Is Good that reads, "it's all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone", which I personally do not find funny! She also bought a bumper sticker that says"Ban Stupid People Not Dogs"...hehehe, we loved it!

I was so exhausted as we drove home, that I fell asleep before getting into my booster seat, and of course, Domeek caught it on camera! Embarrassing! Yes, my head is inside the booster seat and the rest of me is outside!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!!
