Work, Starbucks, and the Beach!

Happy Saturday Everyone!!

WooHoo, it's the weekend: where you get to sleep in, eat big breakfasts, go on long walks, hang out with your pawesome pawrents, and take tons of naps! :-D I love the weekend!

If you follow me on Twitter, you already saw, but yesterday I got to go to work with Domeek! :-D Yeah! It's been so long since I went in with her, in fact, I think the last time was for Take Your Dog To Work Day! WTD, hm, gotta change those statistics! :-/

Anyhoo, I was an excellent puppy! Domeek brought my new sheep-like fur bed and I practically sat, lay, and slept on it the entire time I was there! No one even realized that I was in the office until they came into Domeek's office! :-)

Since Domeek was so happy with my behavior at work, she took me to Starbucks and got me my very own Puppuccino! Eek, it was sooooo delicious!! :-D You have to try it!!

Ok, we're going to be heading to the beach in a short time, even though the weather is being weird today...apparently the Bay Area has forgotten that it's summer and not February...hehehe! So, have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Oh and totally check out all those pawesome bad poems going on right now...they are hilarious!

Happy Thursday Everyone!! :-D

So, my dear cousin Miss Snickerdoodle is back at her own home! She left last night and was super ecstatic to see her Momma again!

I hate to say it, but I kind of miss the little squirt! :-/ My kitty brothers and sister however, tell a different tale...they are absolutely thrilled to have the house back again! Hehehe! She did enjoy going (as Domeek says) Psycho B@#ch on them! Muahahaha! :-D

If you remember, Domeek and I are now going "homemade" with my food and so far, we're having a blast and enjoying all the new nummies! :-) This week, we used Feed Your Best Friend Better cookbook again and made Rick Woodford's Lazysagne! Oh man...if you are interested or into homemade dog food, then you have to check his cookbook out! This recipe rocks! 

So, granted, I haven't tried human lasagna...but I don't think it could taste much better than this! :-D It has egg noodles, ground turkey, spinach, tomatoes, cottage cheese, and a bunch of spices in it! Can't you just smell the deliciousness?! Yummy!!

Snickerdoodle and I couldn't wait to eat it all! Let's just say, the bowls were clean when we were done with them! Hehehe!

We definitely gave it 4 paws up and now have a week or more's worth of stockpile!

Then...cause she had all the ingredients lying around, Domeek made us some Blueberry puppy cookies!

What I love about them, is that they are crunchy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside! :-)

Yep, we were certainly lucky and happy puppies!

Ooooo, question to those of you on the homemade diet...is there a multivitamin that you suggest or take? We're a little confused with all the ideas and nonsense on the internets!

Wordless Wednesday - Arastradero Preserve

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!

Domeek wanted to make sure that Miss Snickerdoodle and I had a fantastic week while she was (currently "is") staying with us, so she took us to a bunch of hiking trails, parks, and walks! Luckily we even got to venture out to a new spot...it's called the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto.

The preserve is a mix of steep hills, forests, valleys, and grasslands. We decided to take the steepest trail of them all. It was only about 3 miles long, but man oh man, did it feel sooooo much further!

When we first got to the preserve, there were signs that said that coyotes had been seen on some of the trails and that dogs weren't allowed on them...and then when we got into the car, the first thing that we saw when leaving the parking lot - an adolescent coyote!!!!! :-D Wowee!! I think that might have been the biggest dog that I have ever seen!!! Crazy! 

We had such a wonderful time that we'll definitely be going back!

Who Is This...And Why Aren't You Leaving?

Happy Sunday Everyone!

If you're my friend on Facebook, you might have already seen some photographic evidence.

Something...hm, rather, someone happened on Friday morning...

This is Snickerdoodle, my second cousin I spoke about a couple of days ago, and she is currently staying at MY house!!

Who? What? WHY?????

I don't really mind her, but what really gets my goat going is that Domeek didn't consult me when saying she could stay over! Grrr, arg!

Unfortunately her pawrents had to drive to New Mexico, that's a 17 hour drive, and couldn't take her along...so I (yeah, that's right ME not Domeek) got stuck babysitting her until Wednesday! Pft!

Hm, so while I continue to sulk, have a quick look at some of our adventures together (we'll post more in the next couple of days).

FitFriday - Welcome to the Technology Age

Happy Friday Everyone!! :-D I hope that you have all had a wonderful week!

We're joining the FitDog Friday bloghop this week, hosted by the fantabulous SlimDoggy, Peggy's Pet Place, and To Dog With Love!

As you all know, it's 2013, we're living in the center of the Technology Age. You can't turn on the television, walk around the neighborhood, or visit the local dog park without seeing ads for the latest gadget, bumping into someone who's looking at their smartphone and not the street, or becoming the Mayor at Four Square! ;-) Hehe...and I love it!!

So, how can we use all these incredible technological devices and ideas to our advantage, especially when it comes to being a fit pup?

Well, thankfully, there are some seriously smart and creative dog loving geeks out there who are more than happy to help a canine out! ;-)

I want to introduce you all to three wonderful devices that are here to assist both you and your parent!

Whistle Activity Monitor

"The Whistle Activity Monitor is an on-collar device that measures your dog’s activities including walks, play, and rest, giving you a new perspective on day-to-day behavior and long-term health trends. Check-in from your phone, share memorable moments with family and friends, and send detailed reports to your veterinarian."

Not only does this pretty pawesome device let your parents know how active (or lazy) you've been during the day, but it also uses that information and alerts them when there might be a health issue going on! It's almost like a LifeAlert...hehe! Unfortunately (at least for us), they've already had too many orders on the books, so are sold out until Fall 2013, but you can pre-order the next batch for only $99 per monitor! Just make sure that you have an iPhone or iPod Touch for compatibility! 

FitBark

"FitBark is the world's tiniest wireless activity tracker for dogs. It's the first platform that leverages existing APIs of human fitness trackers to bring you a unified view of your fitness level and that of your dog. If you're not only a devoted dog parent but are also serious about tracking your own fitness, you'll love this."

If you want a device that inspires both you and your pup to get off the couch and start an exercise program, then this is the technology for you! Currently FitBark is working on their Kickstarter program, but by the looks of their designs and specs it's going to be one amazing tracker! Their app is going to be available in Fall 2013 and they'll start shipping at the end of the year! You can pre-order your tracker for $69 on Kickstarter, but if you wait, the price will go up! At least to begin with, you're going to need a Nike Fuelband, Fitbit, Withings Pulse, or Bodymedia Fit for compatibility! 

Tagg - The Pet Tracker

"Tagg—The Pet Tracker can do more than track and find your pet. With Activity Tracking, find out how active your pet is—and be proactive about her health. Detailed, easy-to-use charts will give you a complete picture you can share with your pet’s vet, so you can make educated decisions about activity and health."

Although Tagg isn't specifically fitness and activity focused (it started as a GPS tracking device for pets), it's currently one of the only products available on the market that does a good job of helping track your pup's physical activity level! The Tagg Tracker is $99 and although it doesn't require any specific smart phone or snazzy fitness device, they are charging a monthly fee of $7.95 after the first 3 months. It's also the only device that requires your pup to be over 10 pounds. 

So there you go, three incredibly pawesome devices that are about to explode on the marketplace! No matter what product, if any, you decide to go for...hopefully it will inspire you and your best friend to get out there and move!!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Hehehe, with all these pawesome Christmas in July swaps that are going on in Blogville this week, I thought that I'd jump on the Holiday bandwagon too!! :-D

Soooooooooo, Domeek just booked our Holiday vacation...and it looks like...I'll be spending Christmas in...the...SNOW!!!

What the dog! I've never seen the snow, let alone been in it before, but for a whole week we'll be hanging out in a traditional cabin in Lake Tahoe!! :-) I can't wait!

It's one block away from the lake and only 2 and a half miles away from the Heavenly Ski Resort! :-) Could it get more pawesome, you ask? Yes!!!! Cousin Pippi is joining us, along with my second cousin Miss Snickerdoodle (seen below), and hopefully a pawesome Siberian Husky!!! Gasp! It's going to be a fantastically crazy Christmas!!!

 

You all just wish you were tagging along too! ;-)

Too bad it's still four months away...boo! But, we're already starting to make plans of the when's, where's, and what's! 

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!!! ;-)

Time For A Hike

Happy Friday and Saturday Everyone!!

For the past couple of days, Domeek and I have headed on over to the coast for a 3 mile hike around the bay trails! If you're keeping track, that's a whopping 6 miles in two days! :-D

I met so many different dogs on our hike, but most of them were too busy to stop and say "hi", and I even met 2 skunks and a kitty that thought she was a skunk! :-D I wanted to go over and introduce myself, but Domeek was being a big-old-meenie and said "heck no, you aren't getting skunked today!" Hehehe!

Oh, and during our little break, Domeek reorganized the kitchen and gave me my very own nook!!! :-D I love to be with her when she's in the dining room and kitchen, but there's never anywhere to hang out that isn't in the way...but now there is!! Check it out!

I look so small in that photo...I'm not that little! ;-) This has turned into my favorite place to hang out in the house...sadly, it's also turned into one of the popular spots for my kitty siblings too! Boo to them!
