Wowwee, I had the greatest time with cousin Pippi yesterday! We hoped on over to Petco just before lunch and there were already tons of dogs playing and walking around. Luckily Daly City was pretty cool, so the snow lasted a lot longer than if it was near my home.
First we took some time to meet new friends! It's always best to do a quick meet and greet when you get somewhere!
This was Pippi's first experience in snow too...hehe, a bit trepidatious!
My first thought "Um, WTD...no! You go play in that wet white stuff!"
Then, after a bit of coxing, I tried it out! I have just one word that describes snow...Cold!
But eventually, I got used to it...I even started walking away from Domeek, saying "Hi" to other pups and people, and at the end, I ran after a ball!! :-D
All in all, it was a good, but cold day! Domeek doesn't think that Pippi or I will have a problem with walking through the snow in Tahoe at Christmas either...but I definitely think that a jacket of some sort will be necessary! ;-)

On Saturday, I joined cousin Pippi for a wonderful walk around Seal Point Park in San Mateo. All I can say is, "wow...why haven't I been there before?!" The park is right alongside the Bay!
It has a giant hill you can climb, lots of weird looking contemporary art fixtures, a putting green for those hoity toity executives, a 3 acre off leash dog park (holy cow, right?), and you can watch all planes land at SFO! :-D A dog's paradise, I swear!! I've already told Domeek that we're definitely coming back, soon!!!
I was trying to race Pippi up the hill, unfortunately we were both weighed down by our un-athletic humans! Urg! I am happy to report though, that I eventually won the race...muahaha!
We were sooooo high up, I think I might have been able to see all the way to Oakland! ;-)
This is the putting green that I told you about, I don't know why...but I wasn't allowed to mark that grass! Pft! In the distance you can see the San Mateo marina, apparently there's a dog friendly restaurant at the very tip where we can eat outside and watch the boats drift by. Sometime this summer we'll check it out!
There were tons of pups all over the park, check out my small Ruby looking friends (they weren't that nice though)! :-)
The weather was excellent for a walk along the bay too, not too hot, not too cold, and slightly breezy! Aw!

I hope that you all had a wonderful three day weekend!! :-D We decided to stay close to home and enjoyed a little well deserved R&R.
On Saturday, Domeek ventured off to a brand new farmer's market in the Sunnyvale area (little insider's tip, if you are in the Bay Area, definitely check this one out!), as usual, they didn't allow pups inside the gates so I stayed at home and slept in (win-win)!
There were over 30 different certified organic vendors at the market along with a myriad of bakeries, florists, and food truck suppliers...all in all a wonderful start to the weekend! :-)
All of these fresh vegetables cost just $20! Crazy!! ;-)
We also managed to visit the dog park on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. I'm not sure what was happening on Saturday, but there were a ton of different families picnicking in the park and almost everyone had a dog, so there were a whole new set of pups to play with! WooHoo! I particularly fell in love with a mixed poodle (or as his Pop's called him, a moodle (hehehe)!) who was about 2 years old and was visiting, not only our's, but a dog park in general for the first time! Domeek called him my magnet, cause he followed me wherever I went! ;-) I hope that he comes to play again!
Then, this afternoon, Domeek and I went over to Aunty Nilla and Cousin Pippi's house for a BBQ!!!! Man, who doesn't love a great barbecue?! Yum! :-D We had so much fun! We played, we fought, we went to the park...
...we walked along the Bay, we ate hamburgers, and then we played some more!!! I can't think of a better way to enjoy a day off!
Next time we go over to their house, Domeek says that she will have to video us playing together...apparently it's hilarious! Hm... ;-) Pippi literally threw me across the backyard today, I just turned around and ran straight back at her again..."Bring it Pippi!!!" Muahahaha!

My friends over at Peggy's Pet Place and SlimDoggy have come together to bring awareness to the health and happiness of all my canine friends! Did you realize that more than 52% of dogs are overweight or obese, according to the 2012 National Pet Obesity Survey?! That's an insane number, isn't it?! Well, just like humans, that number can definitely change...and who knows, perhaps a simple blog hop might tip the scale (to the left, not right...hehehe)!! ;-)
Here are a few fun facts:
Wild dogs spend 80% of their day hunting and scavenging!
Domestic dogs have been "working" alongside humans for thousands of years!
Stray dogs and cats can travel between 20 and 30 miles, in a single day!
Destruction, hyperactivity, and unloved behaviors can be attributed to boredom and lack of exercise!
Wowee, honestly, I can't believe that our cousins are so physically active and, I'm guessing, fit! :-D BUT, if you are like me and prefer to spend most of your day curled up on the couch then running on a treadmill, have no fear! To be a perfectly fit and happy pup, you don't need to spend practically all day exercising...depending on your size and breed, most dogs need between 30 minutes and 2 hours worth of physical activity each day! Phew! Just remember, that's every day...not, when it's convenient or when there isn't anything good on TV or when the weather is nice! ;-)
So, what kind of exercise should you be doing? Well, it really depends on who you are, as a pup! :-D Hehe, could I answer a little more ambiguously?!
Here are a few suggestions and activities that I prefer to do:
Hike
Walk - Urban or Country
Visit the Dog Park
Play Ball - Fetch
Take Obedience, aka Mentally Exhausting Classes
Swim
Compete/Participate in Dog Sports & Agility
I love to be out and about and exercise, so these are just a few of the types of activities that I participate in! What about you guys? ;-)
I'm a big fan of doing what you enjoy...so, if that means that you love to play hide & go seek, well then, go for it! Are you a nose dog? Make a game out of finding different objects or treats (like my buddies Reilly and Denny) in boxes! How about a great stick game, like my buddy Goose?! Or maybe you love running with your Mom and Dad...take a look at Murphy and Stanley!
If you love what you are doing, then it won't feel like a chore or like exercise! ;-D

Since Grandma has started living here, Domeek and I have had to change our schedules quite drastically...which means, no gallivanting about the neighborhood at all hours of the day (hehehe) and no visiting the puppy park after work!
So, instead, we have started visiting the puppy park around noon, a couple days a week. The positives: the weather is a bit cooler at lunch then after work and I don't have to wait all day long before playing at the park! The cons: so far, there haven't been hardly any pups to play with...generally we've only seen 1 dog each time we're there!
Buuuuuutttt....we've been using our time wisely and have been working on perfecting the art of the Ball!

I even managed to work on my kleptomaniac skills today...Domeek didn't realize that I stole this lovely orange ball until I dropped it on the cement before jumping into the car! Hehehehe! I was soooo sad to learn that we will bring it back on Friday! :-( It's my ball now!
Well, even though things are different, we will make it work...I'm sure I'll see my puppy friends soon enough and by then, I'll be able to show off all my ball techniques!

PeeS: Oh, I just found out that I get to go on a steam train through the redwoods in a couple of weeks! I can't wait...just think of all those huge trees that I'll get to pee on!!!! Eeeek!!!
