Urg, I'm still trying to get over all the craziness from last night...we were up super late (well, for a puppy my age) decorating for Halloween. Considering that I was born just a few days before Halloween last year, I don't remember a peep about it, so everything was completely new for me! There were boxes and boxes and boxes of goodies...stuffies galore (that, might I add, I was not allowed to play with...what?)...things to hang...things to put up...sniffs to sniff...it was utter insanity!! I was so overwhelmed that, after an hour or so, I had to put myself on the couch and just watch (and maybe take a nap or two). Whoa!
Of course Domeek took some photos, but the camera ran out of batteries as she was taking the last one, so now you will all have to wait until tomorrow! ;-) Thus the Randomness that follows!
* Speaking about Halloween, I just saw this awesome gallery on the Better Homes and Garden website that is giving away free downloads of doggie breed pumpkin carving stencils! So, if you are an awesome pumpkin carver, I would check all of them out!
Just look at the Jack Russell (aka, me) stencil...not too shabby, huh? Domeek couldn't carve her way out of a paper bag, so I'm not going to be getting a portrait anytime soon, but how cool would it be?
* Please meet my newest inspiration!

I don't know his name, but just look at him...whoa! This pup was a competitor in Sunday's Surf City Doggie Surf Competition in Huntington Beach (that's a total mouthful, huh?). There were 48 dogs of various ages and sizes that competed. Have any of you gone on a surf board? A friend of Domeek's who lives in Southern California taught her chocolate lab to ride a board in their swimming pool! Even though these guys are fantastic, I don't think that I could do it, the waves are so scary, just look [shudder]! But I bet that some of you would be awesome (Bert, Finn, Murphy, Stanley...)!!!
* Another Halloween item: Domeek's family always goes to Half Moon Bay (aka, Pumpkin Town USA) to pick out their pumpkins and this year, of course, they are bringing me too! We are going on Sunday, after my class! I'm so excited, I've never been to a farm, let alone a pumpkin farm before! :-D Domeek did a little research and there is apparently a farm that not only allows pups to go to their farm but they LOVE us pups!!! That's right! Their name is Farmer John's Pumpkins and the day we are going they are hosting the Tenth Annual Bernese Mountain Dog Day; last year there were over 110 Bernese dogs there...I can't wait!! :-D
A couple of photos from last year at Pastorino's Farm, but we aren't sure if they are going to allow pups or not, we'll see.
There will be plenty of photos taken that day, I'm sure! ;-)
Ok, have a great day everyone!!!
Sooooooo glad my MOM is not into decorating for Halloween. She does not even do it for Christmas. Well she does hang a stacking up for me but that's it. MOM does carve a pumpkin that looks like me and she does one that looks like my buddy Bert.

Well at least you get a stocking for Santy Paws to deliver yummies too! :-) Your Mom must be a talented pumpkin carver, I hope you post photos of them!
DeleteOh wow, those are a lot of pumpkins. At first I thought that was maybe all of your decorations! Yowsa! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I don't think my house could support that kind of pumpkin habit! ;-)
DeleteNow that last pic is one boat load of pumkins, please go have a blast for us. Hopefully this year you get to help with Decorations, like leaving stuff everywhere.
ReplyDeleteYour Furiends
Susie & Bites
Pees; Bites closed his eyes at the surfing, Water dog Not. Now me I would like to try that, OH WATER IS GOOD!
Haha! Yup, that's my kind of decorating! Yeah, I'm with Bites, certainly not a water pup...but I can respect their talent!
DeleteWow, it looks like you are going to have lots of fun looking for your pumpkin!! We never had a Halloween before either!
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Murphy & Stanley
That's right, I hope you both have an awesome Halloween too!! Maybe carve your own pumpkin? ;-)
DeleteWe know you'll choose some great pumpkins for your peeps.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy nearly birthday.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Away, thanks guys! I'll try my bestest!
DeleteYou are so lucky if you get to go to that pumpkin farm. I sure hope they allow doggies. Those Better Homes pumpkin carving stencils are so neat! Unfortunately no Basset Hounds. :(
ReplyDeletePoo! That's just silly! Bassets are awesome, they should celebrate them! :-)
DeleteThose surfing doggies are so clever!!
ReplyDeleteNo kidding and brave too! ;-)
DeleteI want to go to that pumpkin farm with you! Looks so gorgeous, all those pumpkins. Cant wait to see your photos.
ReplyDeleteSankissjuice
We are definitely spoiled for.pumpkins here! :-) I'll take tons of pics! I hope you get to go to a farm too!
DeleteThose dog stencils sure look cool, but I'm not very artsy with stuff like that. Wow, the dog on the surf board is awesome and look he even has a camera, that's crazy fun. Have a great wednesday, you sure made my tuesday with all your cool pics.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Val! I wonder what the surfing pup caught on film...probably something crazy scary!
